Kate is the Managing Director of Optimiss Consulting. She works with her team to assist organisations increase the number of women in their senior management teams. Her firm provides advisory and recruitment services that target improved gender balance in large organisations.
Her professional experience prior to founding Optimiss (in 2009) includes senior leadership roles in Deloitte and in NSW Government. She has expertise in the key skill areas of gender balance strategies, leadership theory and practice, change capability and business acumen. Kate has strong financial and commercial skills along with a significant public policy background.
Kate is passionate about the issues facing women globally and has been on the Board of the United Nations Development Fund for Women (UNIFEM) Australia and Girl Guides Australia.
Her work on the Deloitte Inspiring Women program led to her winning finalist for the Deloitte Business Woman of the Year 2008/9 and being appointed to Deloitte’s Emerging Leaders Council.
Kate has extensive experience in organising, facilitating and presenting at in house engagement/education sessions, conferences and seminars that focus on gender in business.
Kate gained her Masters in Public Administration under a NSW Premiers Scholarship at the University of Sydney Graduate School of Government.
